APCAV message summer 2020

Dear Members,

The APCAV committee hopes that you and your families are all well.

We have regularly informed you about the situation related to Coronavirus in Switzerland and Verbier. The measures decreed by the Federal Council in March are now relaxed in a staggered manner, we inform you below of the latest developments and their impact on Verbier.

Since June 6, additional establishments and facilities can reopen, and demonstrations with a maximum of 300 people are again authorized provided they have a protection plan. If close contacts take place, data on the persons concerned must be collected in order to be able to trace the chains of transmission. In addition, everyone must be able to follow the rules of hygiene and conduct.

For Verbier, this means that the ski lifts (Châble – Ruinettes) and the Verbier Bikepark reopened the weekend of June 6. Thereafter, they will be open from 11 to 14 June as well as every weekend in June until the full opening from 4 July (http://www.verbier.ch/fr/remontees-mecaniques-l -opening-of-the-domain-is-confirmed-fp46988.html ).

Regarding restaurants, they were able to reopen and the restriction to four people per table that had prevailed since the first phase of flexibility is canceled. For groups of up to 4 people, customers provide their contact details on a voluntary basis. For groups of more than 4 people, at least one customer must provide their contact details. The minimum distances between tables and closing hours (all premises must close at midnight), however, are always binding. Strict hygiene measures must also be observed by all public establishments. You will find under this link the opening dates of restaurants for this month of June: http://www.verbier.ch/UserFiles/File/organisme/UserFiles-verbier/File/pdf-utiles/fr-ouverture.pdf

Activities such as live music are again possible and clubs / discos can reopen.

The Verbier Sports Center is partially open (http://www.verbier.ch/fr/centre-sportif-verbier.html ). Public swimming pools can reopen from June 6, the Verbier swimming pool will be open from June 19. However, the modalities for respecting the rules of distancing must still be communicated.

For summer events, the Verbier Festival is canceled. Musical animations will however be organized by the VF during the Summer, the details will be communicated soon. The E-bike Fest is maintained, it will take place from August 13 to 16, 2020 (https://www.verbierebikefestival.com/fr). Then from September 20 to 27, there will take place the 87th World Road Cycling Championships, organized for the first time between the cantons of Vaud and Valais. Verbier will be the official press host during this event and official partner of the 2020 UCI Road World Championships in Aigle-Martigny as Alpine Destination (https://www.aigle-martigny2020.ch/fr/ ).

Finally, the tourist offices of Verbier and Le Châble are now open Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the VIP Pass and its advantages are available (http://www.verbier.ch/fr/verbier/vip-pass/vip-pass.htm?respp=9).

As for the APCAV, we have decided not to organize a general assembly this summer. We will meet you this winter at our Ordinary General Meeting which will take place at a date to be defined at the end of December. In the meantime, we will not fail to continue to keep you regularly informed of the latest developments. However, you are always welcome to send us questions or suggestions.

Sincerely yours,

Brigitte Borel
