1.    APCAV (Association des Propriétaires de Chalets et Appartements de Verbier) is the association of chalet and apartment owners in Verbier and its surrounding region (Commune de Bagnes).

2.     APCAV is an association of Property owners in Verbier with two main strategies:

2.1    to promote, and, when necessary, defend the common interests of chalet and apartment owners, recognizing that they are among the most valuable and committed clientele for Verbier, in both number and quality, and that they are some of its best ambassadors;

2.2    to promote a harmonious development of Verbier and its surroundings in order to preserve and, wherever possible, improve its intrinsic qualities as a tourist destination in a region of exceptional natural beauty.

3.    In order to achieve its objectives, APCAV has a Committee elected by, and from within, its membership, and which is led by a President and two Vice-Presidents; Committee members are elected on the basis of their capabilities and availability, independent of their nationality.

4.    The principal activities of APCAV are:

4.1    to act, on behalf of the chalet and apartment owners, as privileged interlocutor for the local and regional authorities and institutions, in particular the Commune de Bagnes and Televerbier SA, for all subjects of common interest for its members;

4.2    to participate actively in local economic and tourist policy matters, including through its official membership of the Société de Développement de Verbier (SDV);

4.3    to represent APCAV in the cantonal and federal associations of owners of second residences in Switzerland, in particular the Federation of Associations of Second Residences in Valais (FVSR2) and the “Alliance des Residences Secondaires Suisse”, thus providing the Verbier chalet and apartment owners a voice at cantonal and federal level; and

4.4    to cooperate and coordinate for optimal synergy with other local organizations with complementary objectives, such as the Amis de Verbier (in particular for social activities) and the Amis du Verbier Festival (for cultural activities).

5.    The principal lines of communication between the APCAV Committee and its members are:

5.1    General Assemblies, and notably the Annual General Assembly during the Christmas holiday period and the Summer General Assembly, with both featuring local speakers of interest and Q&A sessions, as well as a social element; additional gatherings may be organized to foster good interactions between members and the Committee;

5.2    the APCAV Website; and

5.3    the APCAV secretariat, which is handled by the Fiduciaire de Verbier, to which members of APCAV can have access year round.

6.    With APCAV’s focus being on the medium and long-term strategic common interests of Verbier chalet and apartment owners, a certain number of personal services have been set up for APCAV members:

6.1    one annual free consultation regarding administrative or fiscal aspects of real estate in the Verbier region;

6.2    information service on construction permits, filed with the Commune de Bagnes for approval, related to neighboring plots of members, having registered their property at the secretariat for such service;

6.3    a newsletter, distributed via email, with articles concerning Verbier and its surrounding region published in the Valais Journal “Le Nouvelliste”;

6.4    reductions on fees for certain local and/or regional services, such as the entrance fee for the Verbier Sports Centre.

7.       Because APCAV’s members represent many nationalities, APCAV’s proceedings are conducted in two languages, French and English.

8.    The APCAV Mission Statement will be reviewed and updated as necessary, but at least every two years; it shall be presented to the Annual General Assembly.
